Wine from Sancerre...

Numerous legends lead us to believe that wine-making has existed in the region since the dawn of time. As early as 582, Gregoire de Tours indicated in writing the presence of the vineyard in Sancerre but it was in the 12 the century that the wine industry really developed thanks to the monks from St Satur and the Counts of Sancerre. having qualified AOC in 1936, Sancerre today has three different types of soil covering 2500 hectares.

... and Menetou Salon

10 communities covering 400 hectares produce the white, red and rosé wine of Menetou Salon. Qualifying AOC in 1959, the history of Menetou is closely linked to that of Jacques Coeur and it is also said to have adorned the table of Charles VII's Superintendent of Finance who acquired the domain of Menetou in 1450.
